Bio
As a lifelong entrepreneur, Stephanie being the founder of wellness company, La Rue 1680, is no surprise to anyone. But deciding at 40 to buy a house in Sicily and choose a slow, Italian lifestyle…..That was the shocker. In 2021, Stephanie put in an offer on a 1600’s palazzo in the San Giovanni region of a small Sicilian town and dove head first into adopting a Sicilian lifestyle… one cornetto (Croissant/Brioche) and “una cappuccino” at a time. Now, Stephanie is sharing insights on small town Sicilian life, stories with locals, and recipes as well, on her social media and Substack newsletter with followers eagerly waiting for the next post.
“Italy is a country that awakens all of your senses. The people wrap you in a warm blanket of love and the vino keeps you coming back for more.”
~Stephanie Synclair
The most common question I get from people of color is, “how are black people treated”. My response is always “I am treated amazingly everywhere I go. Every city, every country. I simply chose Italy for home.
When asked “Why Sicily”, I often reply “Why not”?. Sicily is the perfect mix of both water and mountains. The best of both worlds. It is truly the perfect place.
